Wendy's Book Haul: Blame it on Mogsy

*Somebody* who may or may not have already been named in the post title gushed about Stormdancer and happened to mention that it was available at BookCloseOuts. Of course I can't just get one book from there - have to justify that shipping cost! BookCloseOuts kindly obliged by recommending Three Parts Dead, which I grabbed along with my favourite "parenting" book, NurtureShock.

But this (not) said person didn't stop there! Promise of Blood is on sale for only $1.99, she tweeted, and Amazon, with its sly, seductive ways, guided my cursor to the one-click buy button. But wait! There's more! Throne of Glass was a good price and you might as well get the sequel, Crown of Midnight, she said, and then there was all her gushing about the Riyria books, so I had to check out Theft of Swords...

  1. Hey, can you not agree that even if you ended up not liking these books they would still be such a super duper good deals?!?! :P

Though, not to worry, the ones I've read -- Promise of Blood, Stormdancer, Theft of Swords -- are all great. Promise of Blood is especially a fantastic buy. $1.99 for a book that only came out earlier this year and is a nice thick epic fantasy debut? And I really hope you like Stormdancer. I see on Goodreads some people really love it, some people really hate it...but no matter what kudos to Jay Kristoff for tackling such an imaginative idea in an unconventional and unique setting.

    1. Stormdancer is definitely high on my list and oh I love HCs. I'm looking forward to all of these and definitely can't complain about the prices.

    2. Man, that Stormdancer in HC does look beautiful. Ebook just doesn't have the same effect.

    3. I just finished the Elfland HC and it reminded me of how much nicer is is to have a real book in hand.

  2. Oh, I happen to know this person, that should not be named, who is responsible for frequently adding books into my tbr-abyss.
I'm just an innocent reader and there she comes with all her great reviews and shamelessly adds books to an ever growing monstrosity.^^
